Welcome, Roboboy, to the planet.
Blah blah blah and stuff.
Wooot.
I have my bike, and the computer is on order as of this morning.
The loan went through. Awesome.
I’ll make atleast a three-quarter arsed effort at a post later :).
Whoever told you I have an Canon EOS 400D is lying. I have ‘access’ to an Olympus Ultrazoom C770 and occasionally a Olympus 8MP DSLR, I think it’s a E300 or somesuch.
I’m going to do something about getting more permanant access to a DSLR though ;). Just have to see how a few things pan out. Definately going Olympus though. My family has a bit of brand loyalty with them :).
Heheh, I agree with you on the Ethereals being somewhat ‘controlling’. Look at all the background story, and moreso, look at the vespid integration with the communion helm. Now regarding the imperial guard never procreating, a lot of background fluff surrounding human auxiliaries states that the human warriors fighting for the Tau on the fringes are generally all descendants by a generation or more of the survivors of the Damocles Gulf crusade… Now, as for a change in policy perhaps in third phase expansion worlds? Possibly. Third phase expansion sees Farsight decried (responsible for a the victories of the seccond phase expansion, and also the post-damocles crusade mop-up that integrated many humans into the empire) by Aun’Va.
Back to the ethereals again and the artwork, pre Tau Empire the tau mini’s were very humble, wise looking. Tau Empire tau minis are the other end of the scale, almost quite sinister. As for Farsight killing his Ethereals off? Arthas Moloch, the world that happened on, and the conflict mentioned points square at the Necron. That’s where he found the Dawn blade as well. The Dawn blade doesn’t seem like the necron kind of shin-dig though, possibly it’s a relic from the ‘other’ ancient race.
Either way, I’m aiming to model a renegade tau/human force, possibly a Farsight enclave even - I’ve yet to finalize the fluff for the army - that flies in the face of the Ethereals and High Imperial Administration. They’re in trouble either way if Tau or another Imperial crusade rolls in ;).
I’d argue that the Tau aren’t necesarilly evil, and while I haven’t read as much of the fluff behind the Eldar, they do not seem necesarilly ‘evil’, sans their drive to reclaim worlds lost during ‘The Fall’. Now, there are the theories you can bring forth that have been floating around that the Ethereal have a more sinister alterior motive, or the other one floating around that the Necrontyr (or the other ‘ancient’ race that are mentioned occasionally in Necron and Tau fluff) are responsible for geneticly altering the primitive Tau to evolve at such an accelerated rate. Personally I don’t subscribe to the latter theory, but I do partially subscribe to the sinister ethereal theory, perhaps mostly because of the change in artwork and miniatures that came with the Tau Empire codex.
As a result my Tau army I’m building up is essentially a seperatist enclave not too dissimilar to the Farsight enclave (Perhaps a bunch from Vior’la inspired by Farsights teachings) that split off and went their own way, roughing it in the oxide deserts against the Orks and eeking out an existance allongside the few human colonies and travelers. Plenty of big knives hanging off belts, plenty of dented in shoulder pads (or none at all), lots of bare heads, and a rather motley assortment of humans and tau fighting side by side. Lots of converting work to be done :).
Raichase, RPharazon, you’ll of course see photos of the miniatures when I get more assembled. I’m waiting on the foundation paints before I start painting, I want the armor colour to be mechrite red and the clothing to be bone white, with bone white picks on battlesuits aswell.
