22:11 (Aegir`) And such a bloody great professional you are, if you just fucking who-is’d me you’d know that I’m using Australian Optusnet DSL (read: shit) and that I’m in Australia, specifically it will say that my gateway is in Victoria, which is about GMT +10, which that’s slightly bogus, I’m in South Australia, my connection just gets routed out a gateway in Victoria (And people wonder why I have such a shit latency), so my timezone is actually GMT +9.5, but I wouldnt deduct points for missing that one.

Think I have decided upon where I am heading with my life now. I’m going to keep doing a half-arsed job at year12, if I pass, so be it. Making more of an effort though to get Cisco CCNA polished off and completed, though. Then I’m going to go into a full-time apprenticeship in Data Communications, I’ll already have my license and a certificate 2 in electrotech, time to go for certificate 3. After or during that time, I really want to pick up some courses in PABX programming. Hopefully after that, with both cabling experiance, and phone and data network switching systems knowledge, I’ll be able to do quite well.

Haven’t done a whole lot with my TTD stuff lately, havent even played TTD a whole lot recently. I’ve been running an OpenTTD server often, but I’ve gotten a bit bored of that lately.

Been working on my Tau army a bit, still not entirely satisfied with them. I’m going to buy meself some new miniatures and do a different paint-scheme. Grey/very light grey with white highlighting instead of the original white armor that I tried before. White is just too much of a hassle, it doesnt go on smooth, it doesnt go on watered down very well. Its claggy, and its impossible to highlight. Going to probably buy some new miniatures. Probably a new set of firewarriors, some pathfinders, then a sniper drone team. Want to get myself the full rulebook aswell. I’m also going to need another battlesuit for my HQ. If I decide to leave my old troops in a bucket of metho for a few days/weeks, I’ll be able to re-paint them up nicely aswell. Ironicly, the paintscheme I have chosen, was what my firewarriors started out as anyway. I was painting through the shades of grey before trying to paint the white over the top, but it ended up looking shite. Better than most other peoples white tau, mind you, but still not as good as I can do.

Decided on birthday present for Liz, going to be a bit of money, but Ill be able to afford it. Cant wait to see the look on her face when she gets it. It’s something that she’s been wanting for a long while. So yeah, should be good :D.

Getting myself a little 1gig iPod nano (black ftw) soon aswell, my 20gig ipod is farked, hopefully the little nano can take more of a beating (Yeah, I saw that article where they beat the living shit out of a nano and only managed to kill it after they run over it three times with the car, and thats after throwing it out of moving cars, dropping it from 10feet, and all sorts of other crazy shit).

Hmm, what else, oh yes. Gotta go into the city and buy more clothes and all sorts of shit later aswell. Time to get more metal/gothish clothing into my wardrobe (Wooo! Peer/group pressure! :P), supposedly I look hawt in black. Good, since I like black :D. Anyways, I want to make sure I dont go overboard, that and I like colour too much at the moment to abandon it completly. But still. More metal. \m/.

Last.fm is officially teh shiznit, in my eyes, going to fiddle around with my site soon to get more of my Flickr and last.fm stuff integrated. Not quite sure how I’m going to do that yet, but eh.

Right, okay. Optusnet are now both annoying the heck out of me, and are bloody legends at the same time.

For the last year or so, I’ve been paying AUD$69 per month for 512kbps/128kbps ADSL1 with 12GB of downloads per month with 24GB offpeak (Between 11pm and 11am). And now, reading up on the optus website they offer the following:

Fibre:
9mbps/256kbps, 20GB downloads, 40GB offpeak. $79 monthly, $69 monthly if bundled with their phone network (Which we’re already with).

ADSL2+:
24mbps/1gbps, 20GB downloads, 40GB offpeak, $69 monthly, only availible if bundled with their phone services.

ADSL1
1.5mbps/256kbps, 20GB downloads, 40GB offpeak, $79 monthly, $69 monthly if bundled with their phone network offerings.

So for the same bloody price as what I’ve been paying for the last year or so, they’ve been offering three far, far supperior connection plans.

Ohwell. When I have the $50 for the once-off speed upgrade charge, I’ll swap to the better ADSL1 plan, and when ADSL2 is availible in my area, swap to that.

Ofcourse, the Fibre sounds nice, but I doubt they’ve got glass strewn down my street.

The eventual plan is to get Porky (reldred.ath.cx:8080) replacing my bur.st account. Or atleast complementing it more.
