Did end up getting out last Saturday night. Went bowling with Darren and some of his friends. Didn’t know most of the people, but oh well. First time I ever went bowling, and came seccond in the first game with 70 or 80 odd points. So eh. Went to the arcades after that and wasted about 10-20 bucks on this new shooter they had installed. Damn fun game, the controllers were pretty damn accurate aswell, I was doing pretty damn well aswell until some annoying prat friend kept trying to tell me how to play the game while I’m kicking ass at it. Gah.
Bought a laptop today. IBM Thinkpad R30. Should be arriving in 1-6 business days. Woo for me. Also got back the extra stick of ram to my current laptop from Corsairs warranty department. Stick of ram worked fine, but I discovered that my seccond ram slot is also busted. But ohwell. 512mb, while not as good as 768mb of ram, is still better than 256.
I’ll just get the mobo replaced when I take my laptop in to get its battery replaced. No biggie, I’ll get over it.
Work placement is in it’s last week. Working in Flinders Med Centre for the most part. Back to the zoo next week. Should be good seeing my friends again. Seen Sam and Darren a bit on busses and around the entrance of FMC where the bus stops are. Has kept me sane enough I spose.
Been doing the usual bitching and whinging in nastydirty, more entries in there are being made public (Only one person can get access to the hidden entries, she knows who she is.), usually all self-pitying rants about absolutely inconsequential things that I’m blowing out of proportion by wallowing in my own insecurities. But oh well.
Been quite pleased at the ammount of tax to date that I’ve been racking up. Over $300 now. Which is good, I’ll get that all back at tax time. Since I’ve started running out of money, all of that’s probably going towards fixing my bike up. I keep bloody putting that off, been planning to fix it up since before christmas. Ohwell, usual crap I suppose.
Oh, and I had another first today. Crawling around in a ceiling supported by only air-conditioning ducts. Heheh. Monkey-style cable running ftw. Was surprised that I had enough upper body strength to raise and lower myself out of that roof. One hand on my right on the air-con duct, one hand on the left on the rondo (Wall frame in office buildings), arms dead straight at the shoulders, elbow bent almost exactly 90degrees. The ladder I had was short and flimsy, so I had to position myself exactly and lower myself slowly onto the ladder. Now being someone who a while back couldn’t do a single chin up, I was surprised that I managed to pull off what I did today. Esp. since I weigh in excess of eighty kg’s. Maybe it was because I didn’t exactly have much choice. Position myself slowly onto the ladder, or fall and be seriously injured/die. I suppose that type of situation kinda tells your muscles to stop complaining about what it can and can’t do and to just bloody well do it.
Anyways, I’m running out of things to bitch about. Goodnight folks.
