Things on the Internet I am sick to fucking death of:
1: Trolls. See http://whitehand.blogspot.com for an explanation.
2: People who expect everything to be done for them.
3: People who use Linux, that think that anytime somthing needs to be done from the console, its a bug.
4: Idiots on the internet.
5: Anyone who opposes my oppinion that there should be a license to use computers, and that everyone should have to pass a basic competancy test before they can use computers. Aswell as another license to use the internet. These should not be limited by age, creed, profession, or social standing. And be handled by neutral non-profit organizations.
Yeah, this sums up partly what my week has been about. Idiocy. In abundance. And Im bloody well sick of it.
Also, my computer shit itself, turns out that I was correct in that the powersupply was causing instability. It sure as hell runs more stable off of boot-cd’s. Because I cant boot to anything else as the HDD is b0rked, and it appears the Mobo is rooted. It wont remember bios changes, and it has other annoying quirks and instabilities. Ofcourse, since the mobo is quite old, and the CPU (Shitty Jetway Mobo, Athlon XP 2000+) aswell, they will have to both be replaced allong with the HDD.
So heres whats on the purchase list:
1: Abit AN-7 nForce2 Ultra400 AMD SktA board 200->400FSB, 3x DDR400, AGP8x, SATA/RAID, Firewire, audio, LAN: $132.00
2: AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (2.08Ghz) 166FSB SocketA Retail CPU with AMD quiet fan: $165.00
3: Western Digital 80Gb “JD” 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive, 8mb cache: $110.00
4: Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop v3 OEM, USB keyboard & mouse with Tilt-Wheel: $99.00
Im also looking at this case:
Antec Sonata QUIET Black Miditower Case w/380w PSU, door, & Audio, USB & IEEE1394 ports: $181.50
It’ll be a fair chunk of money all up, especially for somone my age, and with my income. My current case is similar to the one shown above, but its beige, and doesnt look anywhere near as cool.
My last lot of spending will most likely be the $105 I owe for my half of the internet (Three month block) and then I might spend some cash on some Magic the Gathering cards.
Oh, and to top it all off. My mother is the biggest computer nubstick in existance. The simple concept of Windows with Titlebars, and Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons confuses her. She bitches that she cant use the things, but she refuses to sit down and practice actually using them.
:roll:.
